Tribute to Satoshi Nakamoto — BitGold More Open More Decentralized
BitGold’s First Anniversary Review, Summary, and Starting Again
The days and months go by like a shuttle, and in the blink of an eye, BitGold has already reached its first anniversary. Since 2015, I have been thinking about the future of the bitcoin community and possible challenges. The challenges finally surfaced in 2017. The Bitcoin community entered an era of fragmentation.
Based on a different understanding and vision of the community, in June 2017 the BitGold project was officially launched. Through the network, a distributed team was formed with no office and team members from around the globe. BitGold’s strategic goals:
1, through more forks, make Bitcoin less fearful of forks and immune to them;
2, let forks return to forks, and it is impossible to replace Bitcoin;
3, through clean forks, let the community compare and judge. De-fork it.
Last year through the hard work of development. Realized the technical indicators in the following table:
mainstream forked coins technology comparison mainstream forked coins technology comparison
Bitcoin team has strict self-regulatory measures:
1, do not raise funds, 2, do not publish any price guidance information, 3, do not participate in the secondary market transactions.
At the same time, the 100,000 BTG donated by miners belong to the community and are managed through multiple signatures. It can only be used for the development and promotion of the BitGold program.
In the past year, BitGold also faced tough challenges. Especially the May 2018 51% double-flush attack. The safety and interests of the entire community were protected through emergency measures to increase the exchange confirmation time, as well as rapid upgrades to the mining algorithm. BitGold became the first project in the history of virtual coins where the coin price did not fall and the community continued to move forward after a successful 51% attack.
A tribute to Satoshi Nakamoto on the one-year anniversary of the activation of the mainnet. I am stepping down from the day-to-day management of BitGold while continuing to help the community through strategic consulting. Let’s make the BitGold community a more open community, a more decentralized community.
I welcome anyone who wants to join together to keep the decentralized dream moving forward.
I will start a new journey and continue to support dream developers with community resources, funds and support decentralized blockchain projects.
I hope that in 10 years, someone will call me Satoshi Nakamoto II.
